Baked Lamb Steaks

2 lamb steaks trimmed of excess fat

Season with salt, pepper, cumin and ginger powder. (You can also mix the seasonings with flour)

Brown the steaks in small amount of oil in a frying pan that you can place in oven.

Remove meat from pan.

Add 1/2 cup of wine and 1/2 cup of water to pan. Deglaze the pan by scraping the browned bits from bottom and leaving them in the pan. Return meat to pan, add a few cloves of sliced garlic and cover.

Bake 1-2 hours in 300 degree oven. The oven temperature is adjustable depending on what else you are cooking. If temperature is higher, you may have to add more liquid.

The meat will be fork tender.

I use the same recipe for pork chops.

  • Lrg egg beaten

  • 1 c dried bread crumbs

  • 1 to 1 1/4 c milk

  • 1/4 c minced onion

  • 1 TBS chopped garlic

  • 1 to 2 TBS chopped jalapeno

  • 2 tsp gr coriander, gr cumin, smoked paprika

  • 1 lb grnd lamb, 1 lb grnd beef

Mix above ingrediants well; Place in one large or many smaller backing dishes; Bake at 350 for one hour; Top with chili sauce or ketchup; Return to oven until meat thermometer reaches 160;

Serves about six;
