Baked Lamb Steaks
2 lamb steaks trimmed of excess fat
Season with salt, pepper, cumin and ginger powder. (You can also mix the seasonings with flour)
Brown the steaks in small amount of oil in a frying pan that you can place in oven.
Remove meat from pan.
Add 1/2 cup of wine and 1/2 cup of water to pan. Deglaze the pan by scraping the browned bits from bottom and leaving them in the pan. Return meat to pan, add a few cloves of sliced garlic and cover.
Bake 1-2 hours in 300 degree oven. The oven temperature is adjustable depending on what else you are cooking. If temperature is higher, you may have to add more liquid.
The meat will be fork tender.
